Show Us Your Craft

Please note: Show us Your Craft is no longer accepting submissions.

Interest in craft is soaring. What have you made that you want to share with the world?

MAD welcomes your contributions to our interactive digital archive for the exhibition Craft Front & Center. Selections will be presented online and included in the Museum’s historical record to document the evolving relationship to craft during these times of upheaval and change.

From embroidering, beading, and knitting to building with clay, wood, or other materials, please show us your finished works, experiments and innovations! We welcome digital images and short narratives about craft from all age groups and skill levels. What skills did you learn and how? What gave your work meaning and why?

Selections will be accessible to the public though MAD’s website and social media during the run of the exhibition.

If you are interested in submitting to “Show Us Your Craft,” send your written entry and image to showusyourcraft@madmuseum.org.

Please include the name of the maker, year, materials, and title (if applicable) with your submission. In addition to a hi-resolution jpeg or png image of your object, images of details and process are welcome. Images should be 1 MB or larger. Please photograph your work against a clean, monochromatic background, preferably white or black.

Not sure what to say? Consider these questions:

  • Is this object pandemic-related or made in response to a significant cultural or political moment? If so, tell us more.
  • Did anyone inspire you?
  • What might your entry communicate to future generations about this time?
  • Do you recognize your own form of making in MAD’s collection?
  • Were you influenced by an artwork, exhibition, or program at MAD in making or sharing this object?
  • Is there anything else we should know?

By submitting to “Show Us Your Craft,” you are agreeing to MAD’s Terms and Conditions. Please read them carefully. Submission does not guarantee inclusion on the website.
