Join us for Art Alive, an intergenerational, drop-in gallery visit and art-making experience inspired by MAD's current exhibitions. This Sunday, artist educators and practicing artists will be leading focused discussions of works on view and facilitating art activities using sustainable, recycled, or low-tech materials.
Art Alive is free with museum admission. Discussions and activities are ongoing, so visitors can join at any time between 11 am and 2 pm and stay as long as they like. The program is offered in accordance with MAD's safe social-distancing practices.
45 Stories in Jewelry: 1947 to Now Floor 2 Taking cues from Something Special (1968), a paper jewelry series by Wendy Ramshaw and David Watkins, 2020 Artist Studios resident Kazue Taguchi will lead a jewelry-making activity using origami techniques.
Craft Front and Center Floor 5 Inspired by Cauleen Smith's Pigeons are Black Doves (2017), artist educator Duneska Michel will facilitate a workshop for making protest posters.
