Kazue Taguchi explores the ethereal and intangible effects of light and reflection. Inspired by stained glass windows in European churches, Taguchi works with reflective materials including glass, mirrors, plastic, and light. At MAD, Taguchi will use stained glass and glass mosaic techniques to create sculpture and an installation from car headlights.
Taguchi has been a resident artist at the Corning Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass School, Cité Internationale des Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Newark Museum, Vermont Studio Center, and Koganecho Bazaar in Yokohama, Japan. She received an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, a BFA at Joshibi University of Art and Design in Japan, and has studied at the Barcelona Glass Foundation.
