The ultimate exhibition of the world’s most influential sports brand: Nike: Form Follows Motion, traces Nike’s growth over the last five decades from a small Oregon running company into a global cultural force. Drawn primarily from the Department of Nike Archives (DNA), the exhibition assembles rarely seen experimental prototypes, original design studies, rarities, and one-offs alongside the brand’s most iconic shoe collaborations. Showcasing sport as a driver of design innovation and global change, Nike: Form Follows Motion will be view at MAD from Sep 12, 2026, through Mar 7, 2027.
Nike: Form Follows Motion is organized by Vitra Design Museum, Weil am Rhein, Germany, and is curated by Glenn Adamson and assistant curator Marcella Hanika with exhibition design by JA Projects and graphic design by Daniel Streat, Visual Fields.
The exhibition is made possible by the New York State Council on the Arts with the support of the Office of the Governor and the New York State Legislature, and is supported, in part, by public funds from the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the City Council.
