Artist Talks and Open Studios

To celebrate the culmination of a six-month residency in the Museum’s Artist Studios, resident artists Eva Tellier, Jayoung Yoon, and Lindsey (Lou) Howard will each speak about their respective practices. Following the talks, visitors will have the opportunity to meet the artists in their studios and see work created at MAD.

This event is free with registration.

ABOUT THE ARTISTS

Eva Tellier is a visual artist who primarily works with ceramics and organic materials. Born in France, she later moved to Montreal, Canada, where she completed a BFA at Concordia University in 2020. She graduated with an MFA from the New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2025.

Jayoung Yoon received her MFA in Fiber from Cranbrook Academy of Art in Michigan in 2009 and her BFA from Hongik University in Korea in 2004. She has participated in exhibitions at The Bronx Museum of the Arts, Bronx, NY; San Jose Museum of Quilts & Textiles, San Jose, CA; Contemporary Craft, Pittsburgh, PA; Hudson Valley Museum of Contemporary Art, Peekskill, NY; New Bedford Art Museum, New Bedford, MA; Here Arts Center, New York, NY; Coreana Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea, and Seoul Olympic Museum of Art, Seoul, Korea, among others.

She was the recipient of the Joan Mitchell Fellowship, Artist in the Marketplace (AIM) Fellowship from The Bronx Museum of the Arts, and the Franklin Furnace Fund.  She has attended residencies at MacDowell, Skowhegan School of Painting and Sculpture, Millay Arts, Anderson Ranch Arts Center, and Sculpture Space. Yoon currently lives and works in Beacon, NY.

Lindsey (Lou) Howard (b. 1997) is a ceramic sculptor born in Dallas, Texas and based in Brooklyn, New York. She received her BA in Art History from the University of Northern Colorado with concentrations in Ceramics and Chemistry. Howard's work has been exhibited domestically and internationally at the Museum Stadtpalais in Stuttgart, Germany (2023); Christie's Gallery in London, England (2024); Stroll Garden in East Hampton, NY (2024); Lamb Gallery in London, England (2025), and elsewhere. Howard has presented solo exhibitions with Launch F18 (New York, NY) in 2022 and Albertz Benda (Los Angeles, CA) in 2023. She was an artist-in-residence at PLOP in London, England (2023) and most recently was a 2025 Hopper Prize finalist.
