Lisa Lee
Lisa Lee was an illustration major at Pratt Institute before she was drawn to jewelry—the idea of creating a piece she could hold in her hand and that was meant to be worn was new and enticing. Lee is interested in minimalism and geometry, and strives to create pieces that are both robust and simple, using semiprecious and alternative materials meant for everyday use. Lee’s lingering interests in the graphic arts led her to fuse images of print to metal, creating a form of visual language. She finds inspiration for each piece by selecting words and letters before incorporating them into jewelry. The spare lines in her jewelry contrast with the soft curves of the human form; the letters are designed with a minimalistic aesthetic and a limited color palette to become an extension of the body.
