Alma Godolé worked for Parisian art galleries and in advertising before she collaborated with her sister and mother to create the Paris-based Atelier Godolé brand. They design unique, handmade “couture” jewelry with meticulous care and craftsmanship using yarns, pearls and semiprecious and precious stones. Their pieces incorporate crochet, which combines art with craft and provides improvisational liberty. Their inspiration is in nature, vegetation and aquatic life—flowers and grapes are key elements—and they constantly explore and reinterpret these themes. The mission of Atelier Godolé is to revisit crochet with a contemporary eye, and to offer people the possibility of wearing special and casual jewelry in everyday life. Godolé studied art history at the Sorbonne.
