Shenhav Russo
Shenhav Russo (Israel) is deeply inspired by a life shaped by movement, place, and material exploration. Born in Côte d’Ivoire, Ivory Coast, her name, Shenhav, the Hebrew word for “ivory,” reflects an early and lasting fascination with the natural world and its diversity. Raised across Africa, Europe, and the Middle East, and educated in Germany, Israel, and Iran, Russo developed a universal outlook marked by curiosity, openness, and cultural fluency. These formative experiences continue to inform her artistic vision.
Since dedicating herself fully to jewelry making in 1997, Russo has worked intuitively, allowing materials to guide form and expression. She is drawn to contrast and tension, exploring the balance between refinement and rawness. Working primarily with gold and natural stones, her pieces embody a dialogue between human emotion and elemental matter, becoming complete only when worn and brought to life by the woman who wears them.
