Anna Porcu
Anna Porcu (Italy) is a jeweler whose practice is rooted in a lifelong immersion in the world of antiques. The daughter of antiquarians, she inherited a deep knowledge of historic artifacts and a discerning eye for rarity and fine detail. After earning her master’s degree in art history, she worked in the Gucci archives in Milan and at the Fashion Institute of Technology in New York, experiences that sharpened her sensitivity to craftsmanship and design history.
Porcu searches internationally for museum-quality cameos carved from shell, ivory, amber, agate, and lava. She reinterprets these historic elements by recrafting their original settings, incorporating sterling silver and gold, and placing them against contemporary leather backdrops. Her work merges scholarly rigor with artistic intuition, honoring the enduring values of Italian handcraft while boldly reinventing tradition for a modern audience.
