Marta Edöcs
Marta Edöcs is a Hungarian glass and jewelry artist who worked on architectural commissions for many years before switching to gallery works and jewelry. Her jewelry centers on glass beads, which she makes with a torch or casts in the kiln. Edöcs is more interested in shapes, surfaces, and the messages conveyed in the pieces than in the typical properties of glass, which she grinds and coldworks before combining it with silver. She experiments in her practice, seeking to capture moments from her life. In her latest series, “Floral,” she takes inspiration from nature, searching for harmony and translating memories and moods to create unique, organic wearable art objects.
