Krista Laos
Krista Laos (Estonia) is inspired by the spiritual power of national brooches and the poetic transformation of materials. Drawn to mother-of-pearl, rock crystal, silver, and aluminum, she seeks to express fleeting moments shaped by rain, sunlight, clouds, and plant life. Her jewelry reflects a search for clarity and balance within constant change, translating natural flux into refined, contemplative forms.
Laos graduated in metalwork and jewelry from the Estonian Academy of Arts in 1978 and is a member of the Estonian Artists’ Association. Her work has been exhibited internationally, including in Limoges, Cincinnati, Washington, Moscow, Beijing, and Berlin. In 1999, she received the Estonian Metal Artists’ Association Annual Award in the name of Ede Kurrel. Her works are held in the collections of the Tallinn City Museum and the Estonian Museum of Applied Art and Design.
