Céleste Mogador
French designer and jewelry artist Céleste Mogador creates necklaces, brooches, and bags, as well as ornamental objects including cushions, plaids, and cement tiles. Her jewels are like lucky charms or talismans: luck and love are constant themes. So are nature and anatomy: mouths, hands, and the famous Evil Eye. Mogador employs finely detailed hand-embroidery, a self-taught technique. Her work reflects a need for manual creation and a belief in perseverance and learning: “Machines will substitute humans but we’ll always need a creative and eccentric mind,” says the artist. “Everything I create comes from mistakes.”
