In this Afrofuturist film, avant-garde jazz mystic Sun Ra and his Intergalactic Myth-Science Arkestra land their spaceship in Oakland after several years in space. In a kaleidoscopic blend of B-movie, blaxploitation film and concert documentary, Sun Ra and his Arkestra set out to use music as salvation for the Black youth of Oakland and lead an intergalactic movement to resettle on their utopian space colony.
