ABOUT THE ARTISTS
Kazue Taguchi explores the ethereal and intangible effects of light and reflection. Inspired by stained glass windows in European churches, Taguchi works with reflective materials including glass, mirrors, plastic, and light. Taguchi has been a resident artist at the Corning Museum of Glass, Pilchuck Glass School, Cité Internationale des Arts, the Lower Manhattan Cultural Council, the Newark Museum, Vermont Studio Center, and Koganecho Bazaar in Yokohama, Japan. She received an MFA from Virginia Commonwealth University, a BFA at Joshibi University of Art and Design in Japan, and has studied at the Barcelona Glass Foundation.
Patrick Coughlin examines the ubiquitous, mundane, and inconspicuous aspects of American material culture and domestic spaces. He abstracts structural joinery, furniture, and traditional craft processes to create mixed-media sculptures that consider the hidden complexity and sensuality of everyday objects. Coughlin is currently a senior lecturer at The University of The Arts and an adjunct professor at Saint Joseph's University in Philadelphia. Coughlin received an MFA from the University of Florida and a BFA from Syracuse University.
