Meet fellow craft creatives and design enthusiasts in this exclusive Design Happy Hour just for MAD Members.Taking inspiration from The Mad MAD World of Jonathan Adler. MAD Members will learn how to design motifs using bold and colorful palettes with artist and designer Zander Schlacter and create a collage on wood panel of their own design. All skill levels welcome! Open bar of wine and beer provided.
Design Happy Hour invites MAD Members ages 21 and up to enjoy an open bar of wine and beer while exploring design techniques with some of the city's most exciting makers and creatives. All activities take place in the Museum’s studio classroom.
ABOUT THE ARTIST
Zander Schlacter (he(/him) is an interdisciplinary artist and designer from Nashville, Tennessee. Zander earned his BFA in textiles from the Rhode Island School of Design in 2017 before moving to New York City. In 2020, Zander founded his namesake textile and home goods line known for its maximalist, eccentric patterns and bold, adventurous color combinations. Zander works primarily within the medium of textiles across many disciplines and product categories; his artwork and textile prints have been applied to sculpture, home decor items, bedding, wallpaper, apparel, accessories, books, and ceramic tiles.
