In our contemporary landscape of multiple approaches to curation, from academic to cultural production, a wide variety of methodologies and origins have emerged. In the case of the Global Africa Project, the challenge of executing an international, culturally based exhibition that incorporated multiple disciplines was no easy feat.

Delving into the reasons behind staging such an exhibition, methodologies used, and outlined goals curators Lowery Stokes Sims and Leslie King Hammond join a group of featured artists to shed light into the process of creating the Global Africa Project.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
