The Building Blocks of Design

Sat, May 14 / 11 am

Robber Baron Cabinet, 2007

At art school, artists and designers are taught about the Elements of Art and the Principles of Design. These are 12 basic building blocks—from color and shape to contrast and harmony—that underscore the production of work across many creative fields. Join MAD educators as they guide visitors through these terms as they relate to the exhibition Studio Job MAD House. Visitors will gain insight into artistic practice, enhancing the viewing experience.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
