In conjunction with Douriean Fletcher: Jewelry of the Afrofuture, MAD will present a special screening of Marvel Studios’ Black Panther: Wakanda Forever (2022), directed by Ryan Coogler. The screening will feature an exclusive digital introduction by the artist and jewelry designer Douriean Fletcher, whose boldly sculptural adornments helped shape the visual world of the Black Panther franchise.  Fletcher will speak on how she first became involved with the franchise, her studio process, and how adornments contribute to character development in film.

Synopsis

Queen Ramonda, Shuri, M'Baku, Okoye and the Dora Milaje fight to protect their nation from intervening world powers in the wake of King T'Challa's death. As the Wakandans strive to embrace their next chapter, the heroes must band together with the help of War Dog Nakia and Everett Ross to forge a new path for the kingdom of Wakanda.
