Join MAD and AIGA NY for a behind-the-scenes story of the creation of NYC Pride’s new visual identity. Hear how an organization born from the Stonewall uprising partnered with branding consultancy Lippincott to create an inclusive purpose and celebrate NYC Pride’s significance in its native city and around the world.
Co-presented with the Museum of Arts and Design, the panel discussion is part of AIGA NY’s Fresh Dialogue event series focusing on current events, issues of cultural relevance, and emerging topics in the world of design.
Panelists
Dan Dimant joined the Executive Board of NYC Pride as Media Director in 2020. His professional career in marketing, media, and advertising/communications at leading firms, including WPP and Publicis Groupe, spans more than a decade. Dan began volunteering with Heritage of Pride in 2015 as a member of the March Committee. In his time as a volunteer, he worked closely with the Development Committee and was instrumental in developing and growing the organization’s merchandise program. Dan was born in New York City and raised in Bay Ridge, Brooklyn by his family who immigrated to the United States from Lebanon and Israel. He attended Poly Prep in Dyker Heights, and Hartwick College in Oneonta, NY. He is a life-long New Yorker, and he currently resides on the Upper West Side of Manhattan.
Jenifer Lehker is a partner in design at Lippincott. She specializes in bringing brands to life across experiences, from creation to activation and management. While at Lippincott, Jenifer has created identity programs for a wide variety of clients and nonprofits, including NYC Pride, GLAAD, Better Homes & Gardens, Meredith, Bain Capital and Bonterra.
Pascale Tam is a partner in strategy at Lippincott. She has experience working with clients across a wide range of brand and marketing needs, including new brand development and brand refresh, positioning, architecture and portfolio strategy, brand activation, and go-to-market strategy. In addition to spearheading development of NYC Pride’s new positioning, she has worked with clients, such as Memorial Sloan Kettering Cancer Center, PBS, and Goldman Sachs.
Dimitri Theodoropoulus is a senior design director at Lippincott, a global creative consultancy. His experience encompasses logo/identity systems, asset libraries and guidelines, brand training, launch events and workshops, web and digital design, wayfinding and signage, custom photography and illustration, motion/video, and data visualization. He has solved creative challenges for a range of brands from large global corporations to nonprofits, including leading the recent rebrand for NYC Pride. His work has been featured in Communication Arts, Designing Brand Identity, Brand New, and the Webby Awards.
