MAD to Extend Pay-What-You-Wish Admission on Inauguration Day, January 20, 2017
Offering Public Opportunity to View Exhibitions Dealing with Topics from Climate Change to Women’s Issues

The Museum of Arts and Design (MAD) announced today that it will extend Pay-What-You-Wish admission to visitors on Inauguration Day, Friday, January 20, 2017, from 10 am to 9 pm. This will be one of the last opportunities for visitors to experience Crochet Coral Reef: TOXIC SEAS, an exhibition about climate change and coral reef death, which closes January 22.
“The Museum of Arts and Design has an unprecedented number of solo exhibitions on view by women artists across generations,” said Shannon R. Stratton, MAD’s William and Mildred Lasdon Chief Curator. “In response to the call for the #J20 Art Strike, we have opted to remain open so these powerful works can be viewed by the public at a time when the topics present—from climate change to women’s issues—are very much at the forefront.”
