Socially Constructed: A Guided Hands-on Workshop Inspired by Ebony G. Patterson
Thu, Mar 17 / 6:30 pm
The tradition of creating a tapestry is long routed in the domestic roles of women. Family history, stories, and life lessons were taught not only through the imagery of each textile, but also through the social aspects of the process. In this hands-on workshop, together visitors will explore how objects reflect who we are as people, as family units, and as a society. Participants will create different textile works that will contribute to a larger installation. Open to visitors of all ages and backgrounds.
