Born in Edinburgh, Yvonne Gilhooly employs traditional goldsmithing skills and precious materials to create sculptural pieces, both for adornment and as standalone objects. Her practice, which is meditative and process-based, celebrates geometry in all its poetic forms. Gilhooly starts with a fascination with line, form, volume, and the void, exploring both tension and harmony, absence and presence. Ultimately, her intention is to create thought-provoking pieces that invite the viewer to experience a moment of personal connection.
