Born in 1963 in Norway, Tove Rygg studied fashion design and began working in the field during the 80´s and 90´s. Since then, still tightly connected to the world of fashion, Rygg discovered through the innovation of a new jewelry technique her passion for designing jewelry. She worked and lived in Norway, Sweden, Germany, USA, France and finally Switzerland, where she lives today.
Thread filaments of precious metals delicately hand crafted into fluid three dimensional forms denote the essence of Rygg’s unique designs. The design and quality of her jewelry is the result of the evolution of an old, traditional metallic wire and thread technique. Due to this new, innovative technique, classic two-dimensional textile-like qualities recede, giving way to a modern, three dimensional look with architectonic overtones. This special technique developed by Rygg raises wear ability and stability to a new level; consequently, providing a durable basis for this unique design concept. All precious metals, such as gold, silver and platinum, find their place and purpose in her designs. All Rygg’s designs are available in white, yellow & rose gold, platinum, silver, stainless steel, precious stones and can be adapted to individual specifications.
