Jessica Briggs
A studio jeweler based in England, Jessica Briggs makes distinctive, very wearable textured jewelry. Briggs, who worked as a textile designer for ten years, brings a love and knowledge of pattern and texture to her jewelry design, which is characterized by the use of low-tech methodologies. She studied keum-boo, an ancient Korean technique for fusing fine gold foil to silver, under a Korean tutor, and was quick to foresee its potential when combined with her experimentations in texturing silver. While keum-boo is widely taught now, Briggs pioneered its use in the United Kingdom, and her work continues to be at the forefront of experimentation and quality.
