Federica Sala
Life is a balance between fragility and strength, a sequence of ephemeral moments that require our focus before we can experience them completely. What is fragile? What is not? Florence-based jeweler Federica Sala's pieces show a deep exploration of delicate and sensitive materials that she suspends in time. She discovered the world of contemporary jewelry as an exchange student at the Duncan of Jordanstone School of Art and Design in Scotland. When she returned to her native Italy to pursue her MA in fashion design, she continued to study jewelry by attending evening classes in goldsmithing at Scuola Orafa Ambrosiana. She completed her apprenticeship at Giorgio Vigna’s studio in Milan. She is currently enrolled in the MFA program at Alchimia Contemporary Jewelry School.
