Romanian jewelry designer Andra Lupu specializes in sterling silver. She continually seeks out new techniques for creating elaborate wearable sculptures. Working with thin layers of silver, she creates very light organic structures that give the illusion of fragility. Lupu considers jewelry to be a continuous game of textures and formal contrasts, realizing pieces that create illusions and raise questions about the way they can be worn. She is intrigued by the interaction between jewelry and wearer; as such, a main focus of her work is the dialogue that arises between the piece and the human body.
