Access Programs

MAD is committed to welcoming visitors of all abilities to the Museum’s exhibitions and programs.

The Museum provides regularly scheduled, free educational opportunities for individuals with disabilities including verbal description tours and American Sign Language gallery tours.

American Sign Language Gallery Tours

Join a MAD docent and an American Sign Language (ASL) interpreter for a focused and intimate gallery tour of our current exhibitions. Visitors will gain an understanding of the materials, processes, and concepts that drive innovation in the fields of art, craft, and design. The docent will also open the floor for discussion about the works on view.

The tour is free and includes admission to the Museum. Preregistration is required. Due to limited capacity, we are unable to accommodate ASL students wishing to attend.

Verbal Description and Sensory Tours

Join an artist-educator for a tour of our current exhibitions specifically designed for visitors who are blind or have low vision. Through verbal description, conversation, and sensory experiences, visitors will gain an understanding of the materials, processes, and concepts that drive innovation in the fields of art, craft, and design.
