Viola Pineider is an Italian designer and visual artist based in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil. Trained as a carpenter, she makes sophisticated wooden jewelry. Pineider uses only noble, rare, and recycled wood, whether found or donated. Through the creation of jewelry, she seeks to study the body—how it moves, behaves, and transforms. Her pieces become extensions of the body itself, tools to survive the homogenization of a globalized world.
