Pamela Wilson
Pamela Wilson (Sweden) was born and educated in Australia and has lived and worked in Sweden for the past thirty-five years. She graduated from the Canberra School of Art and the Australian National University, where she studied textiles as well as silver- and goldsmithing. Her work has been shown by the Swedish National Museum.
Wilson’s practice encompasses a wide range of materials, including silver, aluminum, iron, copper, plastics, and yarns. Jewelry forms are constructed through textile-based techniques such as weaving, knitting, and stitching, allowing traditional craft processes to inform contemporary adornment. Rhythmic structures of color and line emerge through these methods, connecting material, movement, and form.
Her work explores simple, often sculptural shapes designed to move freely on the body. By combining unconventional materials with textile construction, Wilson works spontaneously and at scale, creating jewelry that balances structural clarity with dramatic visual presence.
