Monica Castiglioni and Maria Diana for .bijouets
Born and based in Italy, Monica Castiglioni creates dreamy jewels cast in bronze and silver. She finds inspiration in intangible sources, such as a slight movement or a trail of light, which she transforms into existing shapes. Drawn to unconventional techniques and experimenting with new materials, she designs each piece to be both playful and functional.
Italian designer Maria Diana interprets traditional feminine jewels using porcelain beads with inserts in gold and platinum. She loves hand-shaping porcelain colored with oxides such as cobalt, iron, manganese, and natural white, creating different textures. She views jewelry as “little pieces of art that have the privilege to travel easily around the world.”
In their collaboration, Castiglioni and Diana make jewelry using 3D-printed nylon, an approach they chose for its low environmental impact.
