Martina Ege
Martina Ege (Germany) is a master goldsmith who has been creating jewelry in her own studio in southern Germany for the past twenty years. Approximately five years ago, while traveling in Asia, she was deeply inspired by the breathtaking underwater world she encountered while snorkeling. This experience sparked a desire to translate the beauty of marine life into her jewelry designs without utilizing materials from the ocean, such as coral.
Ege masterfully combines striking shapes and vibrant colors to create wearable works of art. She sculpts intricate, spiky forms in wax, which are then cast in silver or gold before being finished with fine enamel powder and fired, or enhanced with epoxy resin. Her innovative craftsmanship earned her a nomination for the Hessian State Prize last year, and her work has been featured in numerous state exhibitions across Germany.
