Kirk Lang
Kirk Lang is a Seattle-based studio artist who explores themes including time, space, and mythology in the form of wearable and interactive sculptural objects. The wearable objects he creates directly reflect his interest in astronomy and space exploration; the shapes, textures, materials, and color palette found in the celestial environment are all elements that find their way into his work. He chooses materials such as titanium, niobium, and meteorites, which are often used in components of space exploration or naturally exist in space itself. Softer and more malleable metals such as silver, gold, and platinum complement the rigid qualities of the aforementioned materials. The result is one-of-a-kind pieces that are functional and durable while evoking a sense of curiosity.
