Javier Ens
Javier Ens (Spain) is an artist whose practice emerged from a foundation in sculpture and then evolved into contemporary jewelry following his studies at the Escola Massana. His work is driven by an interest in natural processes, material transformation, and sustained experimentation. Through research-led casting methods, Ens combines different metals to produce polymetals, hybrid materials with singular structural and visual qualities. These materials become the basis for jewelry that negotiates tension between chaos and order, the organic and the artificial.
His compositions reflect a continuous dialogue among matter, form, and the body, positioning adornment as an investigative site. Ens’s trajectory has been recognized with the Enjoia’t Award in Barcelona, Spain, acknowledging his innovative approach to contemporary jewelry as sculptural research rooted in material inquiry, process, and critical exploration through making. His practice emphasizes experimentation, risk, and careful observation, inviting wearers to engage physically, visually, and conceptually with evolving metallic forms and materials.
