Francesca Mo
Francesca Mo is an architect and jewelry designer based in Milan. Her collections grow out of a quest to harness the potential of materials, resulting in evocative creations that transcend conventional jewelry to become wearable art. Brooches and pendants are crafted from tree bark and partially varnished; remnants of colored pencils, tempera, and wood are submerged in resin to create compositions suspended in empty space; minimalist pieces feature a small semiprecious stone, a pearl, a thin gold thread, or a fragment of opalescent glass at their center. Stackable rings and earrings provide starting points for personal narratives to unfold, while reversible pieces allow wearers to flip the jewelry based on their moods. In each collection, Mo finds preciousness not in the value of materials but in the pursuit of form, color, balance, and sensitivity.
