Angela Mini Jo (Korea) creates metal objects and wearable works inspired by the ephemeral qualities of nature and memory. Her recent practice reflects a deepening interest in gemstones and ancient craft histories, while her use of nonmetal materials, including plastic, revisits personal narratives rooted in childhood experience.
Jo received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Jewelry and Metal Arts from California College of the Arts. After relocating to Seoul, she earned both a Master of Fine Arts and a Doctor of Fine Arts in Metalwork and Jewelry from Seoul National University. She maintains a private studio where she produces her work and serves as a part-time instructor at Pusan National University and Kongju National University, contributing to the next generation of artists through her teaching.
