Transmission-based arts: signal generation and magnetic fields

Learn how to transform your surroundings using sound, light and color in transmission-based arts!

In this workshop, teens will discover magnetic fields, signal generation and video feedback within Cannibal Mécanique, artist Victoria Keddie’s work for NYC Makers. Both a performance venue for live choreography and an immersive instrument, Cannibal Mécanique is constructed from security cameras, handmade analog audiovisual hardware and specialty carpeting, that react to those who perform or just move within it. Teens will explore the dialogue between analog electronic sound, audio/video feedback and their body’s movements within the space.
