Make your mark during this 2-hour workshop devoted to surface design and printing by hand! We will take a look at how the contemporary artists and designers featured in Stephen Burks: Are you a Hybrid? draw inspiration from global traditions through vibrant patterns and iconic symbols. Using their understanding of both the elements and principles of design, we will employ basic hand-printing techniques in order to create a notecards, placemats, or wrapping paper.
On the first Sunday of the month, join a professional artist to explore the galleries followed by a hands on workshop inspired by the objects in the exhibition. This program is suitable for ages 6 and up. At MAD, our goal is to make everyone feel comfortable and enthusiastic about the opportunity to learn through their hands while having a good time together in our galleries and studio. Drop in allowed, registration is highly encouraged.
