MAD Members are invited to preview the utopian realm of Saya Woolfalk: Empathic Universe (Apr 12–Sep 7, 2025). A multidisciplinary artist, Woolfalk has crafted an ambitious sci-fi parable told through kaleidoscopic installations of imaginary ethnographic displays, as well as garment-based sculptures, video, paintings, works on paper, and performances. Within this world of plant-human hybridism, cultures mix, clash, and are ultimately transformed through shared understanding.
7 pm: Remarks from curator Alexandra Schwartz and Saya Woolfalk, followed by a performance by the students of the Alvin Ailey-Fordham BFA in dance program created in collaboration with the artist.
Refreshments will be served. MAD Members may bring one guest.
