Calling all High School Juniors!
Join Parsons, the Joan Mitchell Foundation and MAD for a Portfolio Development day on April 20th, 2013! Geared for high school juniors and seniors, Portfolio Development Day is a full-day of workshopping ideas and practices to build a competitive portfolio for college submission. The day also includes hands-on "how-to sessions" on how to document work and to strengthen writing to support your portfolio submissions. Students will get a chance to join roundtable discussions with professional artists, designers, and other art professionals. Art professionals will share projects and give direct feedback to students.
In a workshop that explores building a portfolio, students are introduced to the Parson's Challenge and will have an opportunity to conceptualize and develop an idea, and then discuss ways to turn it into a body of work.
