Handcrafted Puppets with J Hann

Fri, Oct 13 / 4–6 pm

Join us for a puppet-making workshop with puppeteer and fiber artist J Hann. Drawing inspiration from the uncanny puppet characters now on view in Shary Boyle: Outside the Palace of Me, workshop participants will create hand puppets out of foam, textiles, and odds and ends.

This workshop is for ages 10 and up. All skill levels are welcome.

J Hann is a New York City-based puppeteer and fiber artist who uses wool, fabric, yarn, and paper to create weird and whimsical puppet characters for the stage and screen. They are a three-time participant of the Eugene O'Neill Puppetry Conference, a Catapult Artist with the 2017 Chicago International Puppet Theatre Festival, and have participated twice (2019/2021) as a resident artist with the Object Movement Festival. J has puppeteered in Italy, Greece, Serbia, Hong Kong, nationally, and in various venues across New York City.
