Family Studio: Natural Dye Collages

Sun, May 7 / 10:30 am–12 pm

In this family workshop for children five and up and their caregivers, we will work with Artist Studios Fellow Carolina Jiménez to translate memory into color and material! What are the colors of your favorite memory? What does remembering feel like, sound like, and smell like to you? With these ideas in mind, we will create our own tissue paper collages. We will also learn about the amazing properties and history of one of the colors Jiménez uses in her work, and where it comes from (hint: it's an insect!).

Family Studio is a collaborative workshop for children and their caregivers to learn, explore, and create together. Admission for children is free and children must be attended by a caregiver. Tickets for adults are required and include admission to the Museum. Space is limited.

Please review our health and safety protocols before you arrive. MAD strongly recommends all visitors six months and older are vaccinated against Covid-19 and visitors ages two and up wear face coverings, even if vaccinated. Thank you for your cooperation.
