Program Description

Take a break from the work week and stretch your creative skill set in our Design Happy Hour workshop inspired by the punk graphics on view in the exhibition Too Fast to Live, Too Young to Die: Punk Graphics, 1976–1986. Brooklyn-based artist and owner of Du-Good Press Leslie Diuguid will lead a punked-out screen-printing workshop that includes complimentary libations. Participants will learn printing basics and work with 70’s-style plastisol processes to create wearable art. Participants are encouraged to bring cotton or natural fiber clothing from home (dig your favorite jean jacket out of the closet) or print on the provided t-shirts and patches.

Leslie Diuguid established Du-Good Press in 2017 to offer a collaborative and fresh approach to screenprinting across the arts, creating hand-screenprinted fine art editions by emerging and mid-career artists. Duiguid is a graduate of the Kansas City Art Institute, and former fellow at The Union for Contemporary Art, She has worked for The Hole, Pamela Barsky, Gowanus Print Lab, Kayrock Screenprinting, the Museum of Arts and Design, Alexander Heinrici, and BRT Printshop.
