The Glass House
The group will be guided through the Glass House site, landscape, and gallery. The Glass House, built between 1949 and 1995 by architect Philip Johnson, is a National Trust Historic Site located in New Canaan, CT. The pastoral 49-acre landscape comprises fourteen structures, including the Glass House (1949), and features a permanent collection of 20th-century painting and sculpture, along with temporary exhibitions. The site consists of a 47-acre curated landscape with 14 architectural structures, an art and design collection. We will explore the interiors of Philip Johnson’s Glass House (1949), Painting Gallery (1965), and Sculpture Gallery (1970), and Da Monsta (1995) on a guided 3/4 mile walking tour.

Lunch
A pre-fixe lunch will be provided at a local seasonal restaurant.

The Aldrich Contemporary Art Museum
The visit will include a curator-led tour of the galleries and current exhibitions. Founded by Larry Aldrich in 1964, The Aldrich is dedicated to fostering innovative artists whose ideas and interpretations of the world around us serve as a platform to encourage creative thinking. The Aldrich is one of the few independent, non-collecting contemporary art museums in the United States, and the only museum in Connecticut devoted to contemporary art.
