Artist Studios alumna Victoria Manganiello will deliver a talk and lead a workshop dedicated to untangling the interwoven histories of textiles and computers inspired by her site-specific installation Computer 1.0. Bringing cloth and code back together, Manganiello will discuss the often-overlooked role of textiles in the development of computers and share her experience as an artist working in both textiles and technology. After her talk, Manganiello will guide visitors in designing a weaving pattern and creating textiles of their own using recycled cardboard looms.
