Huiyu Chiu finds inspiration in the continuous cycles of nature: germination and growth, blooming and wilting, fruiting and rebirth. She makes jewelry using silk paper and silver, to which she applies classic metalsmithing techniques. Originally from Taiwan, she moved to the French countryside in 2016, and she found comfort in capturing her surroundings through traditional oriental painting, which she learned from her mother. She likens the act of painting with ink and mineral powder on silk to meditation, an act of restoring her confidence and inner peace.
