Amal Chao lives and works in Tainan, Taiwan. For her current series, she works primarily in corrugated iron, a roofing material that is strong and durable yet also lightweight and portable. Chao likens jewelry to built structures situated on the body’s surface, providing a secure and comfortable—if temporary—environment for the wearer while hinting at the life within.
