Wendolyn Hammer
American jeweler Wendolyn Hammer’s lifelong connection with art has culminated in metalsmithing. Her work is organic and inventive—under the guiding hand of her New England landscape, she gathers insights into the earth’s abounding beauty that move her to new channels for her own creativity. She continuously challenges herself with new materials and techniques; at present she has a particular interest in glass and pebbles. A true mixed-media artist, she uses casting, soldering, piercing, forging and cold working, revealing great skill for creating invisible connections and embellishment. Above all, she wants her art to convey society’s ever-evolving relationship with the environment: sometimes simple, undisturbed and graceful, but at other times overly stamped with the imprint of human interaction.
