England-based designer Shelby Fitzpatrick has developed her jewelry through a continual exploration of concepts, materials, and techniques. Her current collection of Perspex (Plexiglas) utilizes new technology and a great range of colors to speak to youth, optimism, and a glorious sense of fun. Fitzpatrick’s education began on a farm in Mississippi, where she combined a curiosity to explore with a desire to create objects. Following training in ceramics and textiles, she retrained as a jeweler/silversmith at the Kent Institute of Art and Design, in England. A Fellow of the Society of Designer Craftsmen, she lives near Canterbury, surrounded by a garden for all seasons that provides never-ending inspiration.
