Born in 1965 and trained at the École des Beaux-Arts in Paris, French designer Hervé Van der Straeten first made a name for himself in 1985 for his collections of graphic, sculptured jewellery. Some years later, and entirely independently, he gained international recognition for his strikingly stylish furniture, mirror and lighting creations. His work combines a radical freedom of expression with production of the highest quality.
