Genevieve Howard
An accomplished, classically trained musician from Dublin, Ireland, designer Genevieve Howard tackles the challenge of making music into three-dimensional forms. Her jewels are inspired by songs that have enriched and given meaning to her life. Howard uses the scores to create her own form of graphic notation, which she then stacks like staves and rolls into scrolls to create wearable statements. The main material of her work is paper—she uses Japanese linen cards which gives a beautiful finish to each piece. The paper is laser-cut and carefully assembled to mirror the musical sequence of each score. Howard recently graduated with a BA in metals and jewelry from the National College of Art and Design.
